"People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray." ― Proverbs 10:17 (NLT)

What Are We Ignoring?
Managing a Fantasy Football team can be hard work, considering how much there is to keep up with every week. Am I right?
We receive a lot of information about the players on our roster, as well as other players we may be interested in acquiring. We get bombarded with news updates about players all week long, leading up to kickoff.
The question is, are we paying attention or choosing to ignore the notifications? Are we ignoring the injury updates, the practice reports, and the analysis?
Often, players are questionable and miss practice throughout the week, and we ignore their injury concerns and put them in our lineup anyway, only to have them score us a goose egg. We’re also willing to ignore the facts about a wide receiver’s poor quarterback play or a running back's bad offensive line and keep them on
our roster anyway.
What about the other red flags surrounding the players on our roster? We discover they haven’t been on the field as much in recent games compared to earlier in the season, or now they aren’t getting as many targets or carries, and we choose to ignore the downward trends. We still keep starting them even though the latest details about the player should cause us to take notice.
At other times, we become so focused on our current roster that we overlook players who are performing well around the league and are available on the waiver wire. There are situations, especially with running backs, where it appears one player is becoming the featured back, but we ignore the warning signs and hold onto the player who is being phased out instead of moving on from him.
Additionally, throughout the week, other managers in our league may send us a trade request, but we do not respond to it and choose to ignore the offer. It just sits there open, with no action taken.
Also, as managers drop and add players during the season, we sometimes overlook players sent back to waivers, even though they could be an upgrade to our team. These players get dropped later in the week, and we aren’t paying attention until we see another manager scoop them up instead.
We know, we can’t keep up with everything, but as Fantasy Managers, we have to be aware of what’s important so we don’t ignore what can make our Fantasy team better.
When it comes to our own lives, are there things we’re ignoring that we shouldn’t? Are we ignoring the needs of those suffering? Are we ignoring the comments people make that serve as red flags, pointing to a deeper pain they’re experiencing? Are we ignoring requests from people?
What about calls, texts, and emails that require a response, and we leave them open without any action? Or, on the other hand, are we ignoring our family because we’re on our phones too much? Are we ignoring our spouses and the hints they leave us, or the nonverbal cues they give us?
On a personal level, are we ignoring the warning signs for problems with our health, mindset, or relationships?
More importantly, in what ways are we ignoring God? Are we ignoring Him altogether and choosing not to trust Him, follow Jesus, or receive the salvation He offers?
Are we ignoring the truth of the Bible and the signs all around us that point to God being real and Jesus being the answer our souls long for? Instead, are we continuing to live in the dark, doing as we please?
2 Peter 3:3 (NLT) says, “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.”
Romans 1:20 (AMP) explains, “For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense.”
For those of us who are followers of Jesus, in what ways are we ignoring God? Are we ignoring the doors that God has opened for us or the opportunities that He has presented us for His purposes?
Are we ignoring the promptings of the Holy Spirit to take action? Is the Holy Spirit leading us to step out in faith, speak up, or reach out to someone? Are we choosing not to do the right thing and just ignoring it altogether by committing the sin of omission?
James 4:17 (NIV) tells us, “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
Are we ignoring the red flags about the ways our character isn’t aligning with Jesus? Are we ignoring certain Bible verses or Biblical commands because we don’t like what they say and want to keep doing what we’re doing?
Are we ignoring the facts or the truth about what we know is the wise choice to make? Do we have the wrong belief about something (like God not loving us anymore) and choose to ignore the truth?
Are we ignoring how the truth of the Gospel and our salvation in Jesus impacts every area of our lives? Are we ignoring the signs that we are drifting away from God and getting sucked back into the world, and ignoring the consequences?
Hebrews 2:1-4 (NLT) warns us, “So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.
"So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus Himself and then delivered to us by those who heard Him speak? And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever He chose.”
Are we ignoring the soul concerns or heart concerns we have and are not willing to address unforgiveness, bitterness, or envy that we’re hanging onto? Is the Holy Spirit prompting us to leave a situation so we don’t give in to a temptation?
Are we ignoring the convictions about the sins in our lives that need to be confessed and repented from?
Hebrews 3:12-15 (NLT) states, “Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. You must warn each other every day, while it is still ‘today,’ so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.
"For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. Remember what it says: ‘Today when you hear His voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.’”
Every day, we have the opportunity to follow Jesus, obey God's Word, and respond to the Holy Spirit's promptings. Let's not ignore the truth or the ways God is calling us to action for His glory and purposes.
Heavenly Father, forgive me for ignoring Your commands and doing my own thing. I pray that You will show me how to be more aware of Your guidance, and please strengthen me to obey and walk by faith. I desire to know Your truth and live by it, so help me not to ignore it. Teach me the ways I can serve and love others well instead of ignoring those opportunities. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

According to ESPN.com's stats, heading into the 2025 season, "Across the past five seasons, only three wide receivers have had at least 12 games scoring 25 or more PPR Fantasy points and at least 12 scoring fewer than five: A.J. Brown, Mike Evans, and Cooper Kupp. ―Rotowire.com
