Millions of people play fantasy football every year. They compete, talk trash, make trades, follow games, and stay connected throughout the NFL season. Many churches already run regular Fantasy leagues but don't intentionally meet and experience discipleship throughout the season.

Fantasy Football Fellowship was created to bring greater purpose to something people already love.

We help churches and Fantasy Football leagues turn a typical season into an opportunity for

meaningful fellowship, honest conversations, prayer, and spiritual growth.

Why Fantasy Football Fellowship Exists

 

Many men (and women) love sports but remain disconnected from meaningful friendships, small groups, and intentional discipleship.

At the same time, fantasy football naturally creates weekly interaction, friendly competition, shared experiences, and conversations. We saw an opportunity to build upon those existing connections and use them for something that matters beyond the standings.

FFF helps churches meet sports fans where they already are—and encourage them to take their next step with Jesus. Our passion is to see sports fans following Jesus and becoming more like Him.

​

We love it when guys join a Fantasy Football Fellowship league, and it's the first small group they've ever joined at church. We also love hearing the stories of guys who surrender their lives to Jesus after He worked in their hearts through FFF.

More Than a Fantasy Football League

 

Fantasy Football Fellowship is not a different way to play fantasy football. Your league can continue using ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, or any other platform.

​

The difference lies in what happens during the season in your league and the impact you experience.

​

Throughout the season, members of your league gather for “League Meetings” at a convenient time and use our weekly "Breakout" content to connect fantasy football concepts with biblical truth and everyday life. These conversations help league members go beneath the surface, encourage one another, pray together, and grow in their faith.

We envision every church across the country using fantasy football as an intentional way to:

• Reach sports fans who may not join a traditional small group or Bible study

• Help men develop genuine, Christ-centered friendships

• Create consistent opportunities for fellowship and prayer

• Engage people who are disconnected from the church

• Encourage participants to follow Jesus and become more like Him

• Develop future small-group and ministry leaders

Our goal is not simply to create better fantasy football leagues. We want to see lives, friendships, families, and churches strengthened through them.

Fantasy Football Fellowship is a ministry initiative of UNPACKIN’ it Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

UNPACKIN’ it Ministries launched in 2014 with a mission to challenge, encourage, and inspire sports fans to follow Jesus and become more like Him. We offer year-round content for sports fans, including devotionals, podcasts, radio features, books, and events.

Bryce Johnson is the founder of UNPACKIN' it. He has known Jesus for over three decades and has been involved in church and with many different parachurch ministries throughout his life. He is also an accomplished broadcaster and has worked as a syndicated sports talk show host. 

​

He started playing Fantasy Football in 2004 to connect with his Young Life leader and has been in countless leagues ever since. As much as he loves playing Fantasy Football, he loves using it as a way to minister to others.

 

God opened the door for Fantasy Football Fellowship to begin in 2018 as a practical way to combine the natural connection between Fantasy Football and meaningful fellowship and Biblical discipleship.

​

Since then, churches, league leaders, pastors, and fantasy managers have used FFF to have deeper conversations, build stronger relationships, and grow spiritually throughout the football season.
